To create a peaceful space at home, it would be best to let go of the old things that you no longer need and make room for things that truly matter.
But, letting go is kind of easier said than done, right? No worries, we totally get it! That’s why we came up with 5 easy steps to help you get started with decluttering at home.
Where to start?
Declutter one space at a time
Start small by thinking which space in your house needs decluttering.
Make a checklist
Write down your goals and set a timeline. Also, having a list of things that you can easily give a way will help you decide which items you should keep and let go.
Start with 10 minutes per day
If it’s your first time decluttering and you feel overwhelmed by it, you can try spending at least 10 minutes a day decluttering.
Donate clothes you almost never wear
Try observing the 80/20 rule. 80% of the time, we generally use just 20% of our clothes. The main goal is to give away the clothes that you don’t use 80% of the time.
Give away one item a day
Letting go is not an easy task. But, sometimes, it’s the best thing to do. Try giving away one thing you no longer need, think about the time you last used it and if it still makes you happy. Don’t worry, there are better things coming your way!
Remember that decluttering is a process, it doesn’t have to be done overnight. Always take your time, and keep in mind that slow progress is still progress.
